• We have approximately 6000 undergraduate and 1600 graduate students enrolled in our programs
• Over 36 000 students have graduated from the Faculty since it was created in 1924
• Many alumni are now prominent leaders in business, academia, politics and the public service and enjoy a continued relationship with the Faculty as members of our extensive alumni network.

Programs across the career spectrum

Our programs span the career spectrum — from the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) to graduate coursework and research programs through our Graduate School of Business and Economics (GSBE) . The School currently has one of the most active Ph.D. programs in the country.

Through our emphasis on excellence in teaching and the creation of a dynamic community of scholars, we offer our students an outstanding learning experience. We are housed in a purpose built 5-star energy rated building that boasts the latest teaching technology and interactive learning spaces. Support during and after your studies

Our award winning support programs and services offer you practical help throughout your studies and beyond. At undergraduate level we have a dedicated Commerce Student Centre and at graduate level we offer pre-semester programs, exchange and global opportunities and a dedicated careers centre. Our unique Teaching and Learning Unit (TLU) offers help with student learning at all levels of study.

Research

The Faculty of Business and Economics is consistently successful in winning competitive research funding. We are active in building partnerships with industry, and in publishing and presenting papers for leading journals and conferences. International research collaboration continues to grow in importance—the Faculty has arrangements with over 100 institutions worldwide to facilitate staff and student exchange and collaboration.
