Alumni of Distinction Awards

The Alumni of Distinction Awards Program
The Faculty of Business and Economics wishes to recognise alumni who have achieved excellence in their chosen profession, and who have made a considerable contribution to the Faculty, the University and their communities through their endeavours. To this end, the Business and Economics Alumni Council has established an annual Alumni of Distinction Awards program.
Alumni of this Faculty reflect our important legacy, with almost 40,000 alumni around the world. The Alumni of Distinction Awards program raises awareness of our alumni and honours their outstanding contribution to government, business and the not-for-profit sector.
Alumni of Distinction awards are presented annually and are not limited or extended to one per category; rather, they are awarded based on merit. As such, the number of awards may vary from year to year.

Nominations and the selection process
Nominations for candidates to be considered for an Alumni of Distinction Award are sought from the alumni community. All alumni of the Faculty of Business and Economics are eligible to nominate a candidate, and are not limited as to the number of nominations put forward.
A committee, including representatives from the Business and Economics Alumni Council and the Faculty, will review all nominations and prepare a short-list of candidates to put forward to the full Alumni Council for a vote.
We encourage all alumni to submit candidates who fulfill the requirements and whom they believe should be considered for an award.
Nominations for 2013 awards will open in late 2012.
Selection criteria
- Recipients must be alumni of the Faculty;
- Recipients must have demonstrated excellence in the category for which they are nominated;
