Welcome to the second edition of eComm, the e-newsletter for Alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Commerce. This e-newsletter is produced to complement the printed newsletter,

Alumni Matters, which is published twice a year in April and October, and you will still continue to receive both.
 
Professor Jeff Borland has been appointed to the Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard. Professor Borland is the first economist for a number of years to be appointed to the position, which he will commence in mid 2010.

UMCAS is proud to announce the winners of this year's UMCAS Leaderships scholarships - Allen Sabet and Amber Jain.
 
mentoring2 The Faculty of Economics and Commerce launched the 2009 Career Mentoring Program
for all students in the Faculty on 23 April. The program, now in its seventh year, has a record number of participants with 109 students from the Faculty being mentored by 86 industry professionals.
 
ricardoferreira In this edition of e-Comm, we catch up with Ricardo Ferreira (MIB Melb), an international student
from Brazil, who completed the Master of International Business program at the Melbourne Graduate School of Management in December last year.
 
joe_isaac The Faculty celebrated the unveiling of a portrait of Emeritus Professor Joe Isaac AO .
on 11 March 2009 in the Boardroom, 198 Berkeley St.  Over 75 colleagues, students, friends and members of the Isaac family were in attendance
 
Congratulations to Commerce Alumni who are new fellows of the Institute of Actuaries Australia.
