| Professor Jeff Borland has been appointed to the Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard. Professor Borland is the first economist for a number of years to be appointed to the position, which he will commence in mid 2010. |

The Faculty of Economics and Commerce launched the 2009 Career Mentoring Program |
| for all students in the Faculty on 23 April. The program, now in its seventh year, has a record number of participants with 109 students from the Faculty being mentored by 86 industry professionals. |
