The first semester of 2010 has been an evenful one. As Part of the Creating Future Leaders Series held by the GSBE, Naomi Simson, CEO of Red Balloon spoke to our graduation students about building an iconic brand in March. In the same month, Professor Robert Dixon from the Department of Economics presented his Inaugural Lecture. The Faculty also held an Alumni Seminar Series in Hong Kong and China, which was a great success and wonderful opportunity for alumni living in those cities to reconnect with the university and with each other. |

UMCAS annual Reunion Dinner 2010 |
The annual UMCAS Reunion Dinner will be held again in the historic Dining Hall of Ormond College on Thursday 15 July.

Professor Ross Garnaut Speaks on the New Australian Resource Rent Tax |
Professor Ross Garnaut, Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow and Professorial Fellow of Economics, delivered a seminar to a full theatre on Thursday 20 May on the topic of the controversial resource super profit tax that was announced by the Government on Sunday 2 May, along with the release of the Henry Tax Review.

New issue of Insights is out now

This volume celebrates the opening of The Spot, the new headquarters of the Faculty; and the Faculty’s new name. The opening article by the Dean, Professor Margaret Abernethy, elaborates on these matters while the images throughout the volume provide visual evidence of the new building.
